I'm sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Summer is sure a busy time, isn't it?
In my last post I mentioned I was given a chance to photograph something special. Well, here is the post about that event.
In June, I had the privilege to be one of three photographers to photograph an event for the Hope Kids. The Hope Kids is an organization that plans events and activities for children with cancer, or other life threatening illnesses.
The Hope Kids organized a Princess Party, held at the Woods on Ninth Reception Center, in Murray, Utah.
The children and many of the parents dressed up in Princess(or Prince) attire, were greeted by a professional "announcer" who announced their arrival to all the other guests. The announcing was done by Don Hudson, of Channel Four News.
The little guests were treated to fine dining while orchestra music played in the background.
After dinner the Princesses arrived, descending the staircase to be greeted by the open arms of their MANY admirers. The Princesses seated themselves in the lovely courtyard of the Woods, and made themselves available to chat, hug, and play with all the children.
All of this was followed by Cinderella leading the kids in a manners and etiquette class, at the end of which, fairy dust was thrown in the air to turn the children into "real" Princesses and Princes! The sneaky dust even made its way down my shirt, and although it was super itchy, I don't think I was transformed into a Princess...maybe, next time!
Topping of the evening was dancing with the Princesses! The kid's loved this part! The Princesses are true Princesses to them and they look up to them. I heard so many sweet comments made by children speaking to their favorite Princess.
The event was amazing and I'm so lucky to have been allowed to help out a bit! I left with a reminder that I have an amazing, healthy, life that I need not take for granted!

Yummy food!
And, yummy treats!
The wonderful musicians.
They also had carriage rides around the parking lot.

Manners and etiquette are such an important part of Princess training!
A little bit of fairy dust goes a long way!
Dancing the night away!
Such a fun time and such a great organization to help out!
