I took these family photos of my friend and fellow photographer, Zoie's family in, I think, March. Her husband was home on leave from his assignment in South Korea and she wanted to do a family shoot that involved planes and an old fashioned feel.
We decided that Hill Air Force Base in Clearfield, Utah and the Ogden Union Station, would be good locations.
When we left Salt Lake City it seemed to be a nice day for shooting, but by the time we got to the base I think the temperature had dropped about 25 degrees...literally. It was FREEZING. And, the wind was blowing. What started out as a workable spring day, ended up being a winter day that made shooting miserable. By the time we got to the Union Station it got so cold that we let the kids sit inside while Zoie and I ventured out to get a few shots of her...because she was brave enough.
Our last option was to shoot at one of my favorite places - Farr Better Ice Cream Parlor. It has a fun, vintage flair to it and has been a place I have gone since I was a kid. Not the best lighting inside, but fun and WARM. We did the best we could and got some fun shots.
The first few I'm posting were edited by Zoie and they look great. And, the last ones are edited by me. I thought it would be fun to see the two different styles!
(And, check out Zoie's cute, vintage inspired dress...I love it!)
And, here are the photos I edited:
